Difference between an AMOLED smart watch and an LCD screen smartwatch.

Development of smart watch screen:
In the development of smart phones, in order to meet better user experience and improve the service life of mobile phone screens, smart phone manufacturers are actively developing new screen technologies, such as Samsung's Super AMOLED, Huawei's Mate series, etc. A new generation of AMOLED screens.
The same is true in the development of smart watches. In order to satisfy users with a better experience, smart watch manufacturers have also invested a lot of energy in research and development. For example, Apple watches use OLED screens, Huawei smart watches use AMOLED screens, and so on.
Do Smartwatches Use OLED Screens or LCD Screens?
From the display effect point of view:
OLED screens are more transparent, brighter, and higher contrast than LCD screens, so they display better when displaying a black screen. In addition, OLED also has the advantages of self-illumination, bendability, and power saving. Although the LCD display has the characteristics of high contrast and bright colors, black edges and light leakage will appear when the display is black. The comparison between the two displays when displaying black is as follows:
From the comparison of mobile phones:
OLED displays can be as thin as paper, so they can be made into ultra-thin mobile phones, ultra-thin notebooks, etc.; while LCD displays are composed of glass substrates and liquid crystal panels, so it is difficult to make them thin. So in terms of thickness, OLED displays are much thinner than LCD displays.
From the perspective of service life:
The lifespan of an OLED screen is much longer than that of an LCD screen, because it does not have a backlight layer, so the lifespan of an LCD screen without a backlight layer is generally about 1,000 hours. The AMOLED screen can achieve higher brightness and longer service life due to the use of organic light-emitting diodes as light-emitting materials.
From the price point of view: Apple Watch and Huawei Smart Watch use AMOLED screens, so the price will naturally be higher than that of ordinary LCD screens. Compared with the two, the price of OLED screens is much higher.
But in terms of service life, AMOLED screens are not necessarily worse than LCD screens. Currently, AMOLED smart watches mainly include Huawei WatchGT2 and Xiaomi WatchGT2 Pro.
Huawei WatchGT2 uses the latest generation of AMOLED display to support all-weather display function; while Xiaomi WatchGT2 Pro uses a higher-end AMOLED screen to support all-weather display function.
Therefore, although OLED screens are higher than LCD screens in terms of price, OLED screens are still much better than LCD screens in terms of service life and price.
The LCD display is an active light-emitting display, that is, liquid crystal materials are added to the light-emitting materials.
There are two display modes for the LCD display: one is a flat-panel LCD with a backlight as a light-emitting material; the other is a curved LCD display composed of a backlight and a liquid crystal panel.
Generally speaking, most flat-panel LCD displays use liquid crystal panels, and most curved-surface LCD displays are flat-panel LCDs that use a backlight as a light-emitting material.
Compared with traditional LCD screens, OLED screens have a higher contrast ratio and a wider color gamut range, and can completely turn off pixels when displaying black, thereby having higher brightness and color saturation.
It is self-illuminating and dimmable, and works best without the need for backlighting.
It delivers optimal color, contrast and brightness both indoors and outdoors.
